From the New York Times bestselling authors of the Masters of Ménage series . . .

They are the Perfect Gentlemen of Creighton Academy: privileged, wealthy, powerful friends with a wild side. But a deadly scandal is about to tear down their seemingly ideal lives . . .

Maddox Crawford’s sudden death sends Gabriel Bond reeling. Not only is he burying his best friend, he’s cleaning up Mad’s messes, including his troubled company. Grieving and restless, Gabe escapes his worries in the arms of a beautiful stranger. But his mind-blowing one-night stand is about to come back to haunt him . . .

Mad groomed Everly Parker to be a rising star in the executive world. Now that he’s gone, she’s sure her job will be the next thing she mourns, especially after she ends up accidentally sleeping with her new boss. If only their night together hadn’t been so incendiary—or Gabe like a fantasy come true . . .

As Gabe and Everly struggle to control the heated tension between them, they discover evidence that Mad’s death was no accident. Now they must bank their smoldering passions to hunt down a murderer—because Mad had secrets that someone was willing to kill for, and Gabe or Everly could be the next target . . .

I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with a paperback of Scandal Never Sleeps for review.

Shayla and Lexi surprised me with this first book in a series. It is definitely not a standalone. Scandal Never Sleeps is amazing, it is full of suspense, action, and passion.

Gabriel is going to his best-friends memorial service and he is still trying to figure out how to deal with the loss of Maddox. He was so angry with him but he also cared about him so much. His friends have been like family to each other. At the bar after the service Gabe meets a girl he is drawn to. She is different then all the other girls that he always seems to meet. She eats, has curves and doesn’t seem to care about him for power or money. This is a refreshing change for Gabe,

Everly meets Gabe and decides to give him the name Eve. She wants to let go and be someone else for a night. They decide that neither of them can handle a serious relationship and so she feels no harm to some mystery. Everly was Maddox’s employee and one of the head of cyber security. Her and Gabe leave out their work life, but enjoy a great passionate connection that neither of them can imagine ending.

This all changes when Gabe inherits Maddox’s company and finds out who Everly is. He thinks that she may have a relationship with his friend and this makes him furious. He wants her fired. His friends tell him to think before he acts but Gabe is not always rational and has a hard time trusting.

Everly thinks that since Gabe can’t seem to trust her that he never will. She also feels that they come from different worlds and will never work. The relationship is thrown on a roller-coaster when they keep having to deal with solving why someone would want to kill Maddox.

Will Gabe be able to trust Everly? Can Everly learn to accept Gabe and his world? Will they figure out what happened to Maddox and why, before someone else falls victim? You have to read to find out.

This book was so much more than just a romance novel. That was a great part of it, but the best part was the whole mystery and twists, with great characters. The development of characters was so well done that I loved so many of the friends in Scandal Never Sleeps that I am sad it is over. I can’t wait to get more on Dax and Conner, I am so intrigued by them. The two authors work flowed seamlessly together and I couldn’t tell who wrote what. This book was definitely 5 out of 5 stars.
