Riley or Kit? Kit or Riley? Her brother or her boyfriend? Who’s coming home to her?
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with advanced reviewer copy for an honest review.
Come Back To Me is an emotional, passionate journey that will have you falling in love with both Kit and Jessa. The rotating POV’s really got you into their mindset and separate struggles in having a relationship. The opening chapter is powerful and will leave you dying to get to the end. I really loved this book!
The opening has the officers bringing news along with Kit’s dad, and he has been crying. Jessa knows it is bad and can only mean one thing, but which one was it? Her brother or Kit, the man she is now in love with.
The book goes back to 3 months before and shows how Jessa and Kit’s relationship develops. Both Kit and Jessa’s dads hate each other. Jessa’s dad takes it out on Kit, he has never liked Kit being Riley’s best-friend and would hate it if he liked his daughter.
Jessa has liked Kit since she was about fifteen but he never noticed plus with an over protective brother and father she never got the chance to have much of a life. Jessa is now eighteen but still is scared to not do what her dad wants. She still lives in a bubble, and doesn’t carry out any of her own dreams.
Kit can see how unhappy Jessa is and wishes she would stop letting her dad scare her into not living her life the way she wants. Kit has a plan to make her do things while he is home for eight weeks, he wants her to experience things she hasn’t been allowed to or scared to.
The scary part with Jessa and Kit spending all this time together is that time is running out. They both start to see the real person, and walls start to come down.
“Just not what I expected from you.”
“I have a soft and sweet side. You just haven’t discovered it yet.”
Kit has always been a player, never had a girlfriend. Riley and Jo laugh at the idea of him being serious about anyone. Kit feels different about Jessa and wants to be different with her.
“I like the way she sees me, I think to myself as I stare up at the million dead and dying stars above us. It’s someone worth striving to be.”
When they both agree to date and make this a relationship, time is coming close to an end, Jessa’s fears settle in. She lets Kit know how scared she is for him.
“Come back to me. Promise you’ll come back to me.”
Who comes back to Jessa, is it Riley or Kit? Will Jessa get the courage she needs to stand up to her father and live the life she wants? What happened between Kit and Jessa’s fathers? You have to read this book to find out.
I really enjoyed the way that Sarah grabbed me at the beginning of this book, it made me want to finish. The chemistry was great, very sexy. I would definitely recommend this book for an older teen due to some of the content. I however really enjoyed it and I can’t wait to read more. I am giving this book 4 out of 5 stars.
