From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Breathless Trilogy comes the first novel in the Enforcers series—a bold new direction in erotic romance that explores the games men and women play, and the price they’re willing to pay for pleasure.

What he wants, he takes with no remorse or guilt.

She stood out in his club like a gem, unspoiled and untouched. A lamb among wolves, she clearly didn’t belong. Drawn to her innocence he watched as she was surrounded by men who saw what he did—but no one but him could touch her. He summoned her to his private quarters. He sensed her fear. He also recognized the desire in her eyes. And he knew she wouldn’t leave before he possessed her. She had no need to know his secrets. Not until he had her under his complete and utter control.

What he wants, she isn’t sure she can give him.

The moment he told her want he wanted, she couldn’t resist. Instinct told her to run, but her heart said stay and walk the fine line between pleasure and pain. Though she wasn’t sure she could ever completely surrender, the primal part of her wanted to try, even knowing this man could break her in ways she never imagined. Because once he possessed her, he owned her and it would be too late to turn back. She can only pray that he doesn’t destroy her in the end.

I would like to thank the publisher for providing in advance  a paperback copy of Mastered for an honest review.

Mastered is the first book I have read by Maya Banks. It is erotic, hot, and edgy!!! It was the perfect guilty pleasure, with a hint of mystery and danger. I really enjoyed a lot of the other men who are like brothers to Drake and his business partners. These dominant, intense men will have you wanting to peel back their layers, or peel them off.

Evangeline has just had her heartbroken by her ex-boyfriend. She gave up her virginity to him and then he said she was not good enough and broke-up with her. Her friends/roommates have convinced her to go to an exclusive club, that they know he goes to. They want her to go with a VIP ticket and show him what he gave up, and how stupid he is.

Evangeline goes and Eddie her ex is there. She tries to ignore him and hopes he will not see her, but he does see her and makes a scene. He is crewel, and hurts her.

Drake notices as soon as Evangeline enters the club. She looks like she doesn’t belong. He sees she is a lamb in a room surrounded by wolves. Drake is so upset that his men let her in and now has to worry about getting her out of his club. He then sees on his surveillance a man approach her, that she looks scared, and that he then grabs her. Drake calls his men to handle the jerk who could possibly hurt such an angel.

Evangeline is soon swept up in a world she cannot even comprehend, and she soon finds it hard to even get her bearings. She is drawn to Drake and wants to take a risk but she is scared about what that will mean. She doesn’t know how to be in his world or the rules. He makes it all seem simple but she soon sees it is far from that.

Will Evangeline be able to submit to Drake and live in his world? Can Drake be honest and put his trust in her before she decides she wants something else? You have to read the first part of this story Mastered to find out!

Mastered had me hooked from beginning until the end. I loved the introduction to all the men, and have some favorites! Maddox, Silas, Jax and Justice are my men and I want their stories. The only thing was with introducing so many men in one book it took away from the main couple a little. We got less of them and their chemistry and story. I understand why it was important it was just a lot, so it took away a little bit of my love of the couples journey for me. I am interested to see how I feel once I have the second half of their journey. This was an amazing, well written book that I would definitely recommend and will continue with the series. I am giving it 4 out of 5 stars.

It’s always exciting to read articles from other authors and
use a little something from other sites.

  2. Useful information. Fortunate me I discovered your web site unintentionally,
and I am surprised why this twist of fate didn’t took place in advance!
    I bookmarked it.
