Ashes In The Sky by Jennifer M. Eaton
Fire In The Woods, #2
Release Date: March 1, 2016
After inadvertently saving the world, eighteen-year-old Jessica Martinez is ready to put adventure behind her and settle back into the familiar routine of high school.
Though when she’s offered an opportunity to photograph the inside of an alien space ship, Jess jumps at the chance. After all, she’d be crazy to turn something like that down, right?
Spending time with David on the ship has definite advantages and the two seem to pick up right where they left off. But when Jess discovers a plot to sabotage David’s efforts to establish a new home for his people on another planet, neither David’s advanced tech nor Jess’s smarts will be able to save them.
ASHES IN THE SKY is an action-packed, romantic Sci Fi adventure that will leave readers screaming for more.
The books you are most looking forward to reading in 2016?
Omigosh! Last year was the greatest reading year ever. My resolution for 2015 was to read mostly books recommended by fans. This lead to finding some awesome titles I may not have tried otherwise, and also, for the first time ever, I actually have a real TBR list for 2016.
One of my goals for this year is to read at least 10 books that I already own. This is tough for me, because I tend to buy much faster than I read (Many of you are probably familiar with this little addiction)
So, anyway, these are the books that I already own that I would like to read in 2016:
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas (Just finished)
Undertow by Michael Buckley (Just finished)
Purr-fect Mating by Sheryl Winters (Just finished)
Claimed by the Elven King (Sorry, but yeah, it’s there.) (Just finished)
Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout (Reading now)
Glass Sword (Red Queen 2)
Raging Sea by Michael Buckley
The Witches: Salem, 1692 by Stacy Schiff
Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman
Hunted by Abi and Missy
Tell the Wind and Fire by Sarah Rees Brennan
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
Crown of Midnight, Throne of Glass 2 by Sarah J. Maas
Heir of Fire, Throne of Glass 3 by Sarah J. Maas
Queen of Shadows, Throne of Glass 4 by Sarah J. Maas
Forever Dusk by Jocelyn Adams
(This is certainly not all the unread books I own. Just the ones that are screaming at me from the shelf)
Books that I don’t own, but probably will own soon:
I am Number Four by Pittacus Lore
Starflight by Melissa Landers
Stone Cold Touch by Jennifer L. Armentrout
In the Shadow of the Dragon King by J. Keller Ford
City of Ashes, Mortal Instruments #2 by Cassandra Clare
City of Glass, Mortal Instruments #3 by Cassandra Clare
City of Fallen Angels, Mortal Instruments #4 by Cassandra Clare
City of Lost Souls, Mortal Instruments #5 by Cassandra Clare
City of Heavenly Fire, Mortal Instruments #6 by Cassandra Clare
Now, this is a pretty ambitious list for me, because last year I read 26 books total (The most books I’ve ever read in a year.) And if I am being honest with myself, I will probably only read a few of the books that I already own. There is always a bright and shiny book out there that you want to read, right?
Which am I the most excited about?
Hmmmm… tough call.
#1. I guess I’d have to say Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout (Which I just started as I am writing this.) I’ve been putting this off because I love the Lux series so much, and I don’t want it to be over.
#2. Raging Sea by Michael Buckley. I really enjoyed the first book. The whole concept seemed fresh and new to me, and the writing was awesome.
#3. Starflight by Melissa Landers. I really enjoyed the Alienated Series, and I’m looking forward to loving her next series even more.
#4. Stone Cold Touch. Because, well, Jennifer L. Armentrout. Need I say more?
#5. In the Shadow of the Dragon King by J. Keller Ford. Because everyone needs a little fire breathing dragon in their lives. (As long as they have somewhere to hide)
Have you read any of these books yet? Which do you think I should push up to the top of my list?
I have read all of the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Origin was my favorite in the series so that is a great choice to be #1. I am obsessed with Sarah J. Maas, I love both her Throne of Glass series and her A Court of Thorns and Roses series, would say those are priority reads. I just finished Starflight by Melissa Landers and it was very good. If you liked her other books I think you will really enjoy it. Thank you for sharing your amazing list. You may also like Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare which is the first in a new series in the same world.
Jennifer M. Eaton hails from the eastern shore of the North American Continent on planet Earth. Yes, regrettably, she is human, but please don’t hold that against her. While not traipsing through the galaxy looking for specimens for her space moth collection, she lives with her wonderfully supportive husband and three energetic offspring. (And a poodle who runs the spaceport when she’s not around.)
During infrequent excursions to her home planet of Earth, Jennifer enjoys long hikes in the woods, bicycling, swimming, snorkeling, and snuggling up by the fire with a great book; but great adventures are always a short shuttle ride away.
Who knows where we’ll end up next?
