A stunning, magical world. An international sensation.
Nathan Byrn is running again. The Alliance of Free Witches has been all but destroyed. Scattered and demoralized, constantly pursued by the Council’s Hunters, only a bold new strategy can save the rebels from total defeat. They need the missing half of Gabriel’s amulet—an ancient artifact with the power to render its bearer invincible in battle.
But the amulet’s guardian—the reclusive and awesomely powerful witch Ledger – has her own agenda. To win her trust, Nathan must travel to America and persuade her to give him the amulet. Combined with the Gifts he has inherited from Marcus, the amulet might just be enough to turn the tide for the Alliance and end the bloody civil war between Black and White witches once and for all… .

Half Bad Trilogy, #2
Release Date: January 13, 2015
Wanted by no one.
Hunted by everyone.
Sixteen-year-old Nathan lives in a cage: beaten, shackled, trained to kill. In a modern-day England where two warring factions of witches live amongst humans, Nathan is an abomination, the illegitimate son of the world’s most terrifying and violent witch, Marcus. Nathan’s only hope for survival is to escape his captors, track down Marcus, and receive the three gifts that will bring him into his own magical powers—before it’s too late. But how can Nathan find his father when there is no one safe to trust, not even family, not even the girl he loves?
Half Bad is an international sensation and the start of a brilliant trilogy: a gripping tale of alienation and the indomitable will to survive.
Thank you to the publisher for providing me with a copy for an honest review.
Half Bad was so much better than I expected. This book is fantastic, I don’t usually read this genre but once I picked this book up I couldn’t put it down. Half Bad is dark, intense, raw and powerful!!! Nathan’s story is so moving, and he goes through so much. The way that he is treated because he is different is just heartbreaking, and the things that he endures because of it will bring you to tears.
The book starts with Nathan in a cage being chained up. It then goes back in time over the span of his life to show how he gets to that point. You see all the struggles and family dynamics he has faced. Nathan is half White and half Black Witch. His father is the most hunted and and deadly Witch. The White Witches want to see what traits Nathan will inherit and favor. As he grows he is put through examinations by a council and questioned. Nathan knows they would love to use him against his dad.
Can Nathan escape his cage? Will Nathan be used against his dad? Can Nathan trust anyone in a world so divided by prejudice and hate? You have to read this amazing first book to find out!
Half Bad was amazing and I am dying to continue the series. There is a forbidden romance in the story. The power of deciding who you are and want to be, when so many already have judged, that is thread through Nathan’s journey. I am easily giving this book 5 out of 5 Stars and would definitely recommend it.

Sally Green lives in north-west England. She has had various jobs and even a profession, but in 2010 she discovered a love of writing and now just can’t stop. She used to keep chickens, makes decent jam, doesn’t mind ironing, loves to walk in Wales even when it’s raining, and will probably never jog again. She really ought to drink less coffee.
