BEA & BookCon 2016 Recap

This year was my second year going to BEA & BookCon, but it was a new city for me. I have never been to Chicago, so I was so excited for this trip! I love this book event, it is an amazing place for networking opportunities. I have been able to get contacts that have stayed with me and have remained great friends that I have caught up with at other events. I would love to thank BEA & BookCon along with all the publishing houses and their authors for the amazing event!

Just a few of the authors that I had a chance to catch up with at the event, Sabaa Tahir, Maggie Stiefvater, Laini Taylor, Danielle Paige, and Pierce Brown.

Since I had never been to Chicago I loved walking the city. We were able to go the Hard Rock Cafe, and Giordano’s pizza. My allergies were bad but it was worth the great walks and views.

My overall BEA and BookCon Haul besides the party bags and blogger bags which are pictured below! I managed to get most of the books I was really excited for, so thank you to everyone who provided me with these amazing titles!

I did not get a lot of swag but the swag I did get I was very excited about! Seriously some amazing things I will be using all the time!!!

Thank you to Harlequin for the amazing blogger bag. These are the items I got in it that I was so excited about! I love the coloring book and markers, and these books are all ones I am really looking forward to reading!

Thank you to Flatiron Books for including us in the in-booth cocktail celebration! I loved the amazing bags we were given and included was the book I was highly anticipating Caraval!

Thank you Fierce Reads for including us in your BEA Happy Hour Party. It was a blast to spend time with such an amazing team and group of authors (Including Leigh Bardugo, Kami Garcia, Marissa Meyer, Caleb Roehrig). I also loved mingling with some great bookish friends.

BookCon was a little crazy. We were first in line for entering the main show floor in the morning, but that did not matter, we were trampled as soon as they let people go on the floor. I even had my shoe stomped of my foot. The professionalism that most have during BEA, they definitely don’t have during BookCon. There is just too many people from too many backgrounds.

And last but certainly not least thank you to Epic Reads for the amazing Lounge event at BookCon. It was so much fun to spend time with Alyson Noel, Kendare Blake, Kimberly McCreight, Colleen Oakes, Danielle Paige, and Katharine McGee. We also were given amazing cake pops and sparkling grape juice. Can I just say YUM!
