The princess didn’t expect to fall in love–with her nemesis.
Princess Sepora of Serubel is the last Forger in all the five kingdoms. The spectorium she creates provides energy for all, but now her father has found a way to weaponize it, and his intentions to incite war force her to flee from his grasp. She escapes across enemy lines into the kingdom of Theoria, but her plans to hide are thwarted when she is captured and placed in the young king’s servitude.
Tarik has just taken over rulership of Theoria, and must now face a new plague sweeping through his kingdom and killing his citizens. The last thing he needs is a troublesome servant vying for his attention. But mistress Sepora will not be ignored. When the two finally meet face-to-face, they form an unlikely bond that complicates life in ways neither of them could have imagined.
Sepora’s gift could save Tarik’s kingdom from the Quiet Plague. But should she trust her growing feelings for her nemesis, or should she hide her gifts at all costs?
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with an advance copy of Nemesis for an honest review.
Nemesis has swoon, snark, fantasy and amazing world building, all the things we have come to expect from Anna. I saw the cover of this book and was intrigued but thought is was more of a sci-fi than a fantasy book, this book is beyond the cover or synopsis. It has so many elements. It has multiple kingdoms, each with there own unique elements. It has different creatures, people gifted with abilities. This book really was so much more than I expected and I was so EXCITED to stumble on this now new favorite!
Sepora is running away from her kingdom. Her father is the king and he has not treated her or her mother kind. She has an ability that has benefited their kingdom and without it she knows her father will go crazy. Sepora is captured and sold as slave, nothing goes as she planned.
Tarik soon loses his father in death to a plague, and is now King. He is worried about what his kingdom will do with this new plague threatening his kingdom and the princess from the other now presumed dead. The king will not trade its resources they need and they are fearful for their future.
Sepora has been gifted to Tarik the King as one of his new concubines but she is determined to let him know that is the last thing she intends to be. He is amused by her and wants to keep her around.
Can both Sepora and Tarik find a way to help their kingdoms? Will the plague be to great to stop? Who can they trust and can they trust each other?
Nemesis pulled me in and wouldn’t let me go and just got better with each page. I really did not expect some of the twists and turns, the end will leave you wanting the next book. I would definitely recommend this book as it is now one of my new favorites, and I am giving it 5 out of 5 stars.

I live with my husband and daughter in the Florida Panhandle. I have a southern accent compared to New Yorkers, and I enjoy food cooked with real fat. I can’t walk in high heels, but I’m very good at holding still in them. If you put chocolate in front of me, you must not have wanted it in the first place.
