Lifeblood by Gena Showalter
(Everlife #2)
Published by Harlequin Teen
Release Date: February 28, 2017
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Synopsis:
“My Firstlife is over, but my Everlife is only now beginning.”
With her last living breath, Tenley “Ten” Lockwood made her choice and picked her realm in the Everlife. Now, as the war between Troika and Myriad rages, she must face the consequences.
Because Ten possesses a rare supernatural ability to absorb and share light, the Powers That Be have the highest expectations for her future—and the enemy wants her neutralized. Fighting to save her Secondlife, she must learn about her realm from the ground up while launching her first mission: convincing a select group of humans to join her side before they die. No pressure, right?
But Ten’s competition is Killian, the boy she can’t forget—the one who gave up everything for her happiness. He has only one shot at redemption: beating Ten at a game she’s never even played. As their throw-downs heat up, so do their undeniable feelings, and soon, Ten will have to make another choice. Love…or victory.

Review
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with an advance copy of Lifeblood for an honest review.
Lifeblood is an amazing sequel that quenched my thirst after wanting certain things to be developed from Lifeblood. The pacing and world-building are even better in this book, and that is what was lacking for me in the Firstlife. I feel I got most of what I wanted from this book and I am so excited to read the final book and see how it all ends.
Lifeblood starts right where Firstlife took off. With Ten having made a choice certain ramifications she hadn’t really thought about are now making her question herself. Killian warned her and she wonders if she made the right choice. She knows people have died and being with him will now be the greatest challenge.
Did Ten make the right choice? Can Killian really be trusted? Will Archer come back? You have to read this book and find out!
Lifeblood I loved even more than Firstlife. I liked that the characters are amazing and well developed. We also get some new ones in this book, Victor! 😉 I felt the vivid atmosphere and world was depicted so much clearer and I loved that. The one thing that nagged at me was the numbers thing, at first Ten doing it was okay but after awhile it really annoyed me. Overall I really liked it and I can’t wait for Everlife and more Killian! I am giving Lifeblood 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Great review! I’ve read a couple of Gena’s “adult” books and I enjoyed them but I’ve never read any of her YA books. I’ve recently discovered YA, found I LOVE the genre, so I’m super excited to find authors I’ve previously enjoyed that write in both genres.
Thank you (and the other blog stops!) for the chance!
