Ready or not…love will find a way
Single dad Hogan Guthrie is getting his life back on track, and working as the “barbecue master” at a local diner is just a temporary detour. He and restaurant owner Violet Shaw constantly butt heads…until one night they end up mingling other parts instead. Hogan thought he had the recipe for happiness all figured out. But loyal, carefree Violet is daring him to trust his impulses…and see just how sweet small-town living—and loving—can be.
Nathan Hawley traded his SWAT team credentials for a sheriff’s badge, but a gorgeous new neighbor is shaking up his orderly life. Nathan has a hunch there’s more to Brooklin Sweet than meets the eye—but given her caution about getting involved, he has his work cut out for him. Still, there’s something about the elusive beauty Nathan can’t walk away from—and helping her come to terms with her past might pave the way to the future they both secretly long for.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with an advance copy of Worth the Wait for an honest review.
Worth the Wait is a really great suspenseful, two-for-one romance! . So much sexual tension, hot sex and keep you on your toes suspense.
Hogan and Violet were tip toeing around some feelings at the end of the last book, so we have been waiting for this relationship to unfold. Hogan had a bad break-up with his wife before she died. She cheated and stole from him. So Hogan has little faith and trust in women. He loves sex and has been using them for that but does not want to ever get into a serious relationship again and be made a fool.
Violet is attracted to Hogan but knows he is bad news. He is known for sleeping around and not committing and they work together. Violet has worked so long to make a success of her business. She doesn’t want to be weak. She refuses to need anyone and she definitely doesn’t want to let Hogan think he can take over everything she has worked for.
Violet and Hogan’s attraction grows and they both have to decide what that will means for their future.
Nathan is the sheriff and when a beautiful women moves in next door to him he soon wants to know more about her. Brooklin tries to avoid her neighbors, Nathan and Hogan as much as she can but especially Nathan. She has a past that she does not want brought with her and she hopes that she can move on. Soon she realizes that may not be possible. Someone may have found her and she may be in trouble and Nathan is the only person she can turn to.
Will Brooklin confide in her new friends before the danger becomes too great? Will Hogan finally learn to trust another woman and move past his broken-heart? You must read this sweet romance to find out!
Worth the Wait is fast page turning book, with hot, sexy, sweet and suspense! Not sure if we can expect any more from this series of fantastic standalones but I certainly would be happy to have more, even though this book did end with nothing left unanswered. I just love the characters and could definitely read more. Maybe Lori will write Colt’s story from a few years later. I would definitely recommend this book and I am giving it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
